MILLER
Warren Anthony Miller (October 15, 1924 - January 24, 2018) was a pioneer, a poet and a prophet. As a visionary filmmaker, he spawned an entire industry that thrives today by following in his boot prints. A skier, surfer and photographer, Warren founded Warren Miller Entertainment and was the creative force behind the company, producing, directing and narrating films until 1988. What follows is a brief timeline of a few important moments in Warren's life:

1924: Born in Los Angeles, California.
1942: Begins study of astrophysics at University of Southern California as part of a Naval Officer's training program. Shortly thereafter, he leaves USC to serve in the Pacific during WWII.
1945: Returns from WWII after serving in the U.S. Navy.
1946: Buys his first Bell & Howell 8mm Camera for 77 U.S. dollars.
1947: Travels to Sun Valley, Idaho, to perfect his skiing technique.
1949: While teaching a couple of young Bell & Howell executives how to ski, he combined his skiing and filmmaking talents after convincing the pair to lend him a camera to photograph local skiers.
1950: Released his first film, Deep and Light.
1978: Inducted into the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame.
1989: Sells Warren Miller Entertainment, the company he founded.
1995: Inducted into the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame.
1997: Joins Yellowstone Club, in Big Sky, Montana, as Director of Skiing.
2016: Authors autobiography Freedom Found.

2018: Passes away, at the age of 93.
